Chinese happiness symbol necklace in pewter. Chinese characters are written with the same brush strokes that have been practiced for thousands of years, and the same character is read as kanji in Japan and hanja in Korea. In calligraphy each character is treated as a small piece of art, written with care and intention. Happiness is one of the most loved characters to write and to give, as a wish for joy and good fortune. Wearing it is a simple way to keep joy close, and a good reminder on the hard days.
Who it's for: surfers and anyone who could use a little more happiness. A kanji necklace for men or women, and a gift for a birthday, the Lunar New Year, a graduation or "just because".
The story behind it. This round pendant shows the Japanese/Chinese kanji symbol for happiness in a carved silhouette style, an everyday reminder to choose joy. It comes in a casual surf style for men and women. The pendant is cast in pewter in New York City, plated with rhodium, finished by hand in our Florida studio and hung on brown distressed leather.
Made for the beach. Our pewter is a lead-free tin and bismuth alloy made in the USA, and it is fine in salt water. Wear it surfing, swimming or diving. The natural leather cord is made to last, holding up for years of beach days and ocean swims.
