OM Pendant Made of Dichroic Glass

$ 34.00

Om necklace in dichroic glass. In the Hindu tradition Om (also written Aum) is the most sacred sound, the symbol of Brahman, the Absolute. It is chanted at the start and end of prayers, mantras and yoga practice, and it is also honored in Buddhist and Jain traditions. The three sounds A, U and M are often explained as waking, dreaming and deep sleep, and the silence after them as pure awareness. Set in glowing glass, the symbol feels like light itself. Wear this Om necklace to your practice, to the beach or anywhere you want to feel centered.

Who it's for: yoga lovers, meditators and anyone on a spiritual path. A meaningful gift for a birthday, Diwali, a yoga teacher or a friend starting a new practice.

The story behind it. This Om pendant is one of our top-selling yoga jewelry pieces, a must-have everyday reminder of peace and meditation. We etch the Om into dichroic glass and fuse it in our kiln, so the symbol glows with color that shifts as you move.

Made for the beach. The design is etched into dichroic glass and fused between layers of glass in our kiln, so it is sealed inside: it can't wear off, fade or scratch away. Full fusing gives the pendant a smooth, domed shape that is strong enough for everyday wear in the surf. The glass is fine in salt water. The natural leather cord is made to last, holding up for years of beach days and ocean swims.

What is dichroic glass? Dichroic glass has a thin metallic layer that reflects one color and lets another pass through, so the colors shift as you move. It is very hard to photograph, so in person it is even more vivid than the photos.

The photo is only a representation: dichroic glass is very hard to photograph because the colors change with the angle you view it from.
